The Richard J. Murphy is a public K-8 school located in the Pope’s Hill Neighborhood of Boston
We are proud to call Murphy our neighborhood school!
Our student body is diverse, just like our community! We serve over 800 students each year, which includes students with disabilities and current and former English learners. We are a Title 1 School which means that many of our students come from lower-income families in our community.
Murphy has a strong academic focus. We have 70+ teachers! Murphy staff members have been recognized on a city, state and national level for their accomplishments, including an NAEYC Accreditation for its early Learning Program, and the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, which is a college readiness system designed to close opportunity gaps by preparing students for college, career and life success.
